FAQ and Shipping

JOBU DESIGN FAQ:

Jobu Design products are made in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. We work hard to create the highest quality photographic support products at affordable prices for your enjoyment. We listen carefully to feedback from our customers, professional users, as well as our retailers, who put our products through severe real-world tests. Our goal is to use the best materials and processes to make great products that survive long-term outdoor usability and punishment.

Quality Commitment:

We have worked hard to design products that are world class and will survive in the harshest environments. Time after time we have been shown that cheap goods (whether simple screws and bearings, raw aluminum or entire gimbal heads) simply DO NOT WORK as expected and are simply a waste of time, energy and money for everyone involved. Our goal is to reduce as much foreign content in our premium products as possible, leaving only high quality components made in Canada/USA. We want to make sure that our products are backed up by high quality manufacturers.

We can assure our customers that all of our tripods, gimbals, lensplates and CNC aluminum products all qualify for NAFTA (meaning that they are mainly made in the USA/Canada). All of our tripods, gimbals and accessories are designed and hand-assembled with care in our Toronto factory.

Warranty Information:

Our products carry a warranty of 5 years for all premium aluminum or carbon products. Plastics, fabrics, textiles and wear-and-tear items carry a 6 month guarantee. For premium products such as tripods or gimbals, we strive to offer warranty work past 5 years, however this will entirely depend on availability of components from your product age. We update products approximately every 2 years, and often components become end-of-life and simply cannot be sourced any longer.

Upgrades:

Quite often we are asked about upgrading products with newer components. This can usually be accomplished simply and inexpensively, often your old items will be traded-in as well. Just email us and we'll discuss your requirements. 

Purchase Information:

Purchases can be made with any major credit card through our secure website www.jobu-design.com (Visa, MC, AMEX)

Please note, for VISA/MC/Amex orders we charge in $CAD at the prices shown. Your credit card company will convert the charges back to $US (if in the US) or Euros, or local currency. Due to exchange rate differences there may be a slight discrepancy in the final price, DEVONSHIRE MANUFACTURING is not liable for adjusting this difference. You can call the 1-800 number on the back of your credit card and the operators will give you the daily exchange rate.

Gimbal Product Demos / Test Drives

Some of our products are available for demo or an extended test-drive period. This is easiest to achieve with our Canadian customers as cross-border shipping is a hassle and can incur extra charges.

If you live within Canada, and would like to schedule a product test drive, demo or try-before-you buy, please contact us and we will accommodate you as best as possible. You will bear the cost of shipping both ways to your location, and we will authorize your credit card for the amount of the gimbal head, but you will not be charged. If you choose to keep it, or keep it longer than 15 days, we will charge you for the purchase.

If you live within the GTA, you can come in and pick up a demo head if you want to try one out for a test drive. There are several excellent nearby parks with many birds/waterfowl that will allow you to fully test the equipment out.

Product Returns

Products purchased from dealers must be returned to dealers. Failures/defect within the warranty period must also be returned to the original dealer. The dealer will issue a credit/refund or replace the item with an equal product. We cannot refund you for something we did not charge you for (think about it!).

Products purchased factory-direct may be returned within 45 days of purchase for full refund, minus shipping charges. Orders over 45 days will be subject to a 25% restocking fee. Fees are waived for warranty repairs/defect.

Shipping Information

We have been shipping products around the world for a very long time. Trust us to get the products to you in a timely fashion without unexpected delays or unexpected charges. If you live in the USA bear in mind that you are in fact importing a product into the States when you buy from us, so don't be surprised if the mail-carrier asks you for a bit of taxes upon delivery. Shipping is smooth and easy to most parts of the USA and Canada, so don't hesitate to order direct from us. If you are unsure, contact your local dealer or give us a call at 1-888-321-JOBU.
